Ingredients

  • 1 package of cocktail sausages (about 24 pieces)
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Flour for dusting
  • Optional: sesame seeds or poppy seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly flour your working surface and unfold the puff pastry. Cut the pastry into thin strips about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long.
  3. Wrap each cocktail sausage with a strip of puff pastry, sealing the ends by pressing them gently.
  4. Brush the outside of each wrapped sausage with the beaten egg. This will give your pigs in a blanket a beautiful golden color once baked.
  5. If desired, sprinkle some sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top for an extra touch of flavor and texture.
  6. Arrange the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each for even cooking.
